OUR PREPARATION PROCESS

Preparation

Our Buying Process

Here at Auto Centre Inverurie, we don’t just buy any car and we don’t just buy from anywhere. Our selection process is paramount to our business. We only want the best vehicles on the market. Being in business for 17+ years we have acquired an extensive customer base along with a strong and reliable reputation allowing us to purchase most of our stock from private owners who holds the same values as ourselves. We strive to have a stress-free buying process and offer the strongest value for the right car.

Along with the usual HPI checks and visual inspection, every vehicle must be completed with adequate service history and documentation. The life of the car is critical to our buying process. We have a no-tolerance engine modification policy. We understand that some of these cars are meant to be driven but not abused.

We fully inspect all paintwork using our specialised paint depth gauge, we also inspect the vehicle’s glass for any imperfections. Moving on to an alloy wheel inspection for lacquer peel or curb damage.

We set a very high preparation standard and if we have the slightest hint that we will be unable to get the vehicle to the “ACI Standard” we will not purchase the vehicle.

Valeting + Detailing Process

To get our Vehicle to the “ACI Standard” It first starts with a deep pre-detailing wash where we use a wide range of specialist cleaning products to remove all decontaminate such as dirt, grime, tar, glue, and iron. This starts with a snow foam wash followed by a safe hand 2 bucket (Clean and Rinse) wash. We ensure that no key areas are missed such as wheel arches, door checks, exhaust tips, engine bay, boot lid, and brake calipers. The vehicle is then dried down using a microfiber towel and compressed air and then brought inside to the valeting scissor lift where the interior is started.

The interior of the vehicle is first blown out and hoovered using compressed air. We then move on to shampooing the carpet and seats / cleaning and treating leather and Alcantara. The interior windows and door checks are then cleaned and polished. We then move on to the plastics which we treat and polish.

Final Touches

Every car goes through a polish phase and where applicable we 3-stage machine polish all panels, plastics, headlights, and trim. If required, we also supply and fit PPF to relevant areas of the vehicle. We then use the manufacturer’s touch-up pen and lacquer to treat any stone chips on the vehicle. We flatten using a very light abrasive paper and lubricant. Once flattened and dulled, We 3 stage machine polished the repaired areas to remove imperfections. The vehicle is then ready for advert photos and walk-around video.
