Our Re-Development Project

The History..

Our site was developed into a car sales centre in the early seventy’s by Sandy Thain. Home to both Vauxhall and Ford Franchises Sandy Thain Car Sales enjoyed many successful years here on the Kemnay Road. In approx 2002 Sandy Thain relocated to their new showroom in Kintore where the still are today.

The Auto Centre Vision……

Since opening in 2005 it was always an ambition to create a more modern facility, one that would reflect the high level of customer service and quality product we provide, in addition we have always striven to provide the best possible working environment for our staff. We are pleased this vision is coming together and in late 2015 we made steps towards achieving our goal.

1st Stage September 2015

Late 2015 we begun some changes to the grounds, removing the embankment along the Kemnay road and building a retaining wall, this has created an increased forecourt space. Clearly signed customer parking will be available along this new wall. Once the complete project is complete this new gravel embankment will be landscaped with low level shrubs etc in an effort to take a way the hard concrete look.

Take a look at these short Time lapse videos which captured this stage-

2nd Stage July/August 2016

Early July this year we erected our temporary workshop, this steel structure is in place on the existing forecourt. Housing our vehicle lift, Tyre changing facilities and valet bay. Alongside we have put in place a 32ft office cabin and steel container for storage. Although these temporary buildings will be restricting it will be business as usual!

September 2016 Demolition

On the 5th of September our Main Contractors “Rapid Project Development” a local firm from Rothinorman were on site and began the demolition of the old building. Built in the early seventies using traditional block work and timber framing the old demolition process was no challenge, as you will see in the video once the windows and roof were removed the digger made light work of it!
